Die Rolle der Identität für Anerkennung in der Comic-Branche, /w Anne Elizabeth Moore
This article deals with the relationship between the identity of people working in the comics industry and their chances of recognition and success. The results are based on a comprehensive survey and analysis of a questionnaire with 260 participants from the comics industry, which was distributed internationally in the independent comics scene in 2015 and 2016. After introductions to the study's theoretical framework, known as "militant research," the text discusses specific data sets that provide information about the correlation of identity and success in the industry. The study included questions about sexual orientation, caregiving responsibilities, or illnesses/living with disabilities, which, when combined with questions about financial livelihood and support in the industry, allowed conclusions to be drawn in this regard. Further, the experience of sexual harassment in the course of participation in the comics community was queried, equally with appalling results.
