This article addresses the question of whether it is possible to develop a perspective based on the history and theory of performance as a medium of the visual arts that conclusively allows for the inclusion of (streamed) performances in digital games. Whatever the outcome, this requires a theoretical recalibration, for which I propose two approaches in the text.
